Marine Corps ‘Pride Month’? Cut the Crap!

June is PTSD Awareness Month, amid record military suicides, but Biden said not a word about that.

June is PTSD Awareness Month. But there was no proclamation from Joe Biden to remind Americans that not all battle wounds are physical, in fact not a word from Biden. Furthermore, there was no mention of the fact that military suicides are the highest in 20 years. Morale is suffering under this non compos mentis CINC.

Instead, Biden and his senior military leaders were too busy promoting “gay pride” month in the uniformed services.

On the Marine Corps’ official global-facing USMC social media platform, there was a “tribute” posted to “honor” the small number of gender dysphoric people in our military ranks. The post declared: “Throughout June, the USMC takes #Pride in recognizing and honoring the contributions of our LGBTQ service members. We remain committed to fostering an environment free from discrimination, and defend the values of treating all equally, with dignity and respect.”

I support treating people with dignity and respect, but this post is not actually about that. It’s about infusing the ranks with a leftist political agenda.

I most assuredly do not support using the official USMC platform to promote the Left’s gender confusion orthodoxy, let alone doing so with an image of a Marine helmet and rainbow-colored rounds.

The image, which has been (almost) universally mocked, was a knock-off of a Vietnam-era “Born to Kill” poster featuring a helmet with belted M80 (7.62x51) rounds for the M60. Notably, however, the unbelted “gay” rounds in the Marine helmet band are Russian AK-47 (7.62×39) rounds.

No doubt some civilian social media minion who did not know the difference, was overpaid to create this image, and some poor, unwilling Marine E-2 was ordered to post it. And, there is a Marine Staff Sergeant, some deranged card-carrying member of the “Pride Enforcement Plattoon” haters, who is combing through the comments under that post and doxxing/reporting Marines, recruits, and poolees who post objections.

The irony of mistakenly using Russian ammo is rich, but the virtue signaling warped.

If there is one graphic image demonstrating what Joe Biden and his cadre of leftist voters have done to defile the best our nation has to offer, this is it.

This post has nothing to do with Marine readiness and everything to do with undermining unit cohesion — the esprit de corps that is the USMC’s foundational fabric. If mass eye-rolls among the Marine rank and file had a sound, the thunder from outside the Beltway — those not kissing Biden’s brass — would be deafening.

Fact is, this crap impacts readiness because the insult to morale impacts reenlistment decisions. Marines are ashamed to be associated with this degradation. One Marine E-5 spoke for many others: “This shit is one more reason why I am not reenlisting — nobody wants this shit and the result is that our best Marines, enlisted and young officers, are leaving. Lots of them are leaving.”

Is there just one senior Marine commander inside the Beltway, willing to give up his career to call this crap out? Just one?

This disgraceful social media post dishonors generations of Marines and other military personnel who have sacrificed their lives for our country. It is an affront to the 10 Marines, two soldiers, and Navy corpsman who were killed nine months ago during Biden’s disastrous surrender and retreat from Afghanistan — the biggest loss of American lives there in a decade.

But I am certain Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and their military leaders are belly-laughing over this one.

In 2012, Barack Obama, with Biden as his bumbling sidekick, ordered the first military “gay pride” celebrations. Like Obama, Biden is now flying rainbow flags over federal buildings, and even over our embassy at the Vatican (because Joe is a “good Catholic”). Of course, he lit up the White House this week with rainbow spotlights as a high-profile virtue signal.

These are things that warped presidents can do by the stroke of their pen.

It could have been worse. The U.S.Space Force posted an image of an astronaut planting a rainbow flag on some planet, under the heading “Queer Space.” Now that is some supreme space cadet jackassery right there!

Finally, to calm your nerves, I conclude with some real world warrior ethos, quotes for our Marine and other military readers that reflect the spirit of the vast majority of those now serving, and those who have! These words from the “warrior monk,” Gen. James Mattis (USMC, Ret.), are sure to please…

“Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet. … There are some a**holes in the world that just need to be shot. … Fight with a happy heart and strong spirit. … There is nothing better than getting shot at and missed. It’s really great. … I come in peace. I didn’t bring artillery. But I’m pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you f**k with me, I’ll kill you all. … You are part of the world’s most feared and trusted force. Engage your brain before you engage your weapon. … The most important six inches on the battlefield is between your ears. … No war is over until the enemy says it’s over. We may think it over, we may declare it over, but in fact, the enemy gets a vote. … I’m going to plead with you, do not cross us. Because if you do, the survivors will write about what we do here for 10,000 years. … For the mission’s sake, for our country’s sake, and the sake of the men who carried the Division’s colors in past battles — ‘who fought for life and never lost their nerve’ — carry out your mission and keep your honor clean. Demonstrate to the world there is ‘No Better Friend — No Worse Enemy’ than a US Marine.”

And last but not least: “Find the enemy that wants to end [American Liberty] and kill every one of them until they’re so sick of the killing that they leave us and our freedoms intact.”

UPDATE: Biden was too busy issuing “Gay Pride” proclamations and ordering military branches to post absurd “Pride Month” virtue signals on social media, to acknowledge the 78th anniversary of D-Day – until one of his Twitter heads heard evening media reports about the omission and rushed out and late in the evening post for Biden: “We must never forget the service and sacrifice in defense of freedom, and we must strive every day to live up to the ideals they fought to defend.” Notably, last year he forgot altogether, making no D-Day mention at all.
